Goodbye 2012, thank you!

Hello, hello!  Well, this is the last post for 2012 and this year has been phenomenal and I am very thankful for a great many things.   A few things that I achieved over the year:

  •  I studied Maya at school and scored top marks which was awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I also made quite a few friends, which is pretty fantastic.  I am also proud that I managed to support myself through school and excel in freelancing, exhibitions and learning a new program.  I did it without any monetary support from anyone too.
  • Participated in quite a few exhibitions this year and have started selling illustrations I do for fun.  I did a whole lot of exhibiting at Squishface and joining the comic studio has been great!  I started selling my prints at the Sketch and Tulip too and have made many new friends in the process.  I also finished my first zine.
  • I trained every week when I was physically capable.  To be honest, the only time I didn't train was when I got sick.  I am also fitter, slimmer and tougher than I have ever been.  I feel more confident and pleased with my appearance.  I really love training and have had more than one instance where I surprised myself physically.  It's also great to have someone who actually believed and supported my physical capabilities for a change instead of saying it was a waste of energy. Thanks Justin.
  • I ran my first 10 km run.  How awesome is that?
  • I managed to put up a blog post every single day for this year.   Or at least a post that represented a day.
A lot of other things happened over the year too...however that's a more personal matter.  They were mostly good things though!

I have many things that I am hoping to achieve for 2013 but I will leave that for another post!

  1. What a year for you, brilliant! :) Mind you, you really deserve all those good things, you work so hard for them, it's good to see that it's all paid off. Have a happy and most amazing 2013 :)

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!  How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri. I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.  Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Burning

Howdy! This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash. I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!

IF: Remedy

"Little Benny is off to remedy a pest problem" Howdy, When the theme "Remedy" for Illustration Friday came about, this came to my head.  I suppose I always had a thorough and maybe a tad bit on the overkill side when it comes to remedying certain problems.  I got bitten by bedbugs while I was in an Austrian hostel and this is exactly what I wanted to do...eradicate the nasty little creatures from the face of the planet.  This is hand drawn and then scanned into Photoshop for colouring. I went hiking again today. Went hiking in the rain and mud in the Dandeong ranges and treated myself to scones afterwards.  Not a bad day at all.  Keeping active and having a balance between work and staying at home all the time and just trekking outdoors really helps me focus on what I need to do.
