Hobart Sketch Trip: Journal Entry 05

A drawing by Marta Tesoro aka Rabbit Town Art
Hi!  Well, this is the last page of my journal entries from my Hobart trip.  It's been a while since that trip and this is  my favourite drawing out of the lot.  Cute dead baby penguins. I should post the urban sketches I did.  I never got around to coloring them though.

For news...I got my hair done, finally.  It's only been 8 months or so.  I feel a lot less scraggly now. I finished 2 freelance jobs and am still working on two other.  My contract for a TV series job I will be working on for a year starts tomorrow.  I am filled with trepidation though as I will have more responsibilities than normal.  Nothing I haven't done before but I guess cos I have done it before that I know I don't particularly enjoy being in charge of other people.  I prefer to do just my own work and go home, we shall see how I go and discuss if it really isn't my cup of tea.

I have also started drawing my steampunk fish and may even do birds soon.  I am still rather weak drawing mechanical pieces but I think there's some improvement.  Perhaps I will be able to draw another one tonight....or watch anime.  Getting into one called Natsume Yujin-cho at the moment.  It's good fun.

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.

IF: Burning

Howdy!

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!
