Hobart Sketch Trip: Journal Entry 03

Urban Sketching at Hobart, Tasmania by Marta Tesoro aka Rabbit Town Art

Yup...it's been a while since I last wrote!  Almost two weeks, in fact, sorry about that!  Though until I get to work from home more and not always in the studio, it's going to be this way for a bit.  The current project we're working on right now is almost finish, yay!  It's great to have work but it's also awesome when it's done and we can all see the results and have it sent out to the wild and I don't have to keep it under wraps any more!  Not that it matters too much, since most animation studios all seem to know what the others are working on but it's not wise to announce stuff in public yet.

I drew the drawing above ages ago!  While I was in Hobart.  Needless to say...I haven't done a whole lot of my own drawings after the trip.  I remember drawing this in the freezing cold as this was a bronze statue on the wharf.

What's been happening...working.  We're down to the nitty gritty for the current animation project at the studio.  I've been working on illustrating some toddler e-books after hours when am not too tired or I do a huge chunk on the weekends.  I find myself sleeping till quite late in the day now, on weekends.  Not because I always stay up late when I can, though this is a factor every now and then, but because I am just tired.  It's been a rather full on year thus far and it will just get more hectic!

I also went to a house party on the weekend and got given a lot of succulents for free!  YAY! I look forward to doing some planting on the weekend.  I've also bee using the slow cooker a lot.  There will be some nice pulled pork deliciousness and mash potatoes waiting for me after this blog post!

Anyway, not much else to report.  I am super dull at the moment.  Hopefully I can do more fun stuff soon....or at least draw something of my own!

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

Space Chickens in Space Trailer

Hi, hi!  A trailer for the projects I've been working on all year at Studio Moshi, as an Animation Team Lead, has been released!  Here it is in all it's glory.  It's pretty fun and manic and colourful, with funny stories and appealing characters. All the good things that I enjoy when working on a project.

It's always interesting when working with people from different countries and time zones, getting assets and feedback but it works.

We have 4 months left on this project.  Where did the time go?  It feels like it just zipped by.  I am looking forward to a break.  I think...this time around I will focus on getting my website done and working out all my social media accounts and perhaps a few new pieces as well.

Been doing budgets too.  I think I may have been eating out way too much and shopping, but hey...can't take money with you when you die!  That said, I think I will endeavor to be a bit more frugal in the next production.

Howdy!  It's been a while since i posted anything up on the blog.  My bad. I've been super busy with one job after another and I WAS doing a few drawing challenges too before I got overrun with work.

For news, I finished up with one of my animation jobs last Monday, started work at one of my regular studios on Thursday and we're working on a cartoon movie for DVD, did drawing and freelance illustration in between those days and caught up with a friend, somebody was being a jack ass on the tram and I let them know it.   Rob and I also watched Logan, a great movie and I would totally recommend it.

Today, I did a bit of work, received text from one of my employers about more work and we're about to enjoy the day in a country fair.  Well, if we make it in time.  I also cooked up pancakes this morning and it wasn't a disaster.

Our kitty Hanzo (changed from Dorian) is causing a lot of mischief and he likes to eat electric cables.  Guess we have to find something to stop…
