Brunswick Street Gallery : Small Works Exhibition

Howdy!  Here are my pieces and myself at the Brunswick Street Gallery opening night for the Small Works exhibition.  Was pretty good but my goodness, was it packed!  I couldn't look at all the artworks because there was just so much people.  It was awesome though!  My parents and the Squishface people came and my pieces do look pretty.  Very happy about it.  Looking forward to having a solo exhibition though!

  1. Congratulations Marta, so exciting!! Your artwork looks wonderful...the fish you've been creating are getting more and more fascinating...absolutely love them!
I bet you'll be having your own show very, very soon! :)

  2. Well done Marta. I saw the call for entries for this the other week and would've liked to have entered myself, but it only had a couple of days to get work printed and submitted.

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Burning

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.
