Melbourne Zombie Shuffle at the Treasury Garden

Melbourne Zombie Shuffle 2014

Black and white

our pieces.
Today was the Melbourne Zombie Shuffle.  I dressed up for this once before and it was a lot of fun but this year, I decided to urban sketch it!  I told some of the sketchers about the shuffle last night and Evelyn decided to join me.  We had a lovely time people watching  zombies, spectators and photographers as we drew.  Good fun and I decided to go for a different look when colouring today.

I have the same sketchbook Evelyn has but I do find it very cumbersome to take out with me.  Perhaps when I plan to be in one spot for most of the day, and can concentrate on just Urban sketching, it will be the sketchbook I pack.

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.

IF: Burning

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!
