Colour Run 2014
colour run start!
This is Leisl and I gearing up for the colour run. This happened yesterday! It's a 5 km run, walk, stroll, fun run! Every time we reach a kilometre we get splattered with colour. It was a lot of fun, though lesson learned that I will not be catching public transport when events like this are happening and if I do, I will make sure to catch it at the very start of the line. It was absolute madness even trying to get to the venue! A sea a white shirts at every tram stop...and not enough room on the tram! It was good when we got to the venue though. Leisl and I met up and we just geared up to run. Though...with the crowd and the fact that not everyone was running, it became a bit of a hassle. We ended up walking the 5 km, not a hard work out, but it was great to catch up with Leisl.
After the 5 km
Rock star pose!
Here we are after the 5 km! It was a lot of fun. Going through clouds of colour, bubbles and getting sprayed with water (so the colour sticks) was definitely different to your normal fun run. Now to see if I can get the colour off my shorts.....
Got to mention my awesome partner though for driving me there and for waiting for me and Leisl to finish the race!
"Little Benny is off to remedy a pest problem" Howdy, When the theme "Remedy" for Illustration Friday came about, this came to my head. I suppose I always had a thorough and maybe a tad bit on the overkill side when it comes to remedying certain problems. I got bitten by bedbugs while I was in an Austrian hostel and this is exactly what I wanted to do...eradicate the nasty little creatures from the face of the planet. This is hand drawn and then scanned into Photoshop for colouring. I went hiking again today. Went hiking in the rain and mud in the Dandeong ranges and treated myself to scones afterwards. Not a bad day at all. Keeping active and having a balance between work and staying at home all the time and just trekking outdoors really helps me focus on what I need to do.
You know what the nastiest predators are? The ones who look cute and friendly! Dont you want to hug these guys? Look at their big smiles! Take a wild guess what they have in they're lil sacks and what they're going to do with them. I imagine that these guys mugged a few storks in the way..... My entry for Illustration Friday ! Yay! I love what I do. I love drawing and animating for a living but sometimes....sometimes I wish I was in something steadier and am not always looking to where my next gig will be coming from. I enjoy and have been very lucky as a freelancer and hope to be able to keep it up. Thinking of getting into 3D and perhaps games..that would be fun! I have a few more weeks before I leave for Japan. Very excited!
Did you know that if you give someone 6 red roses it means " I want to be yours". It would certainly increase your popularity with that person. My first school of flower fish. Did you guys notice the bunnies? It's nice to travel with company. I went and sold my zine and a print of this image at a zine fair today. I've never done it and I had a great time and sold a few things too. Anyone interested in this print? There are still some left! Send me an email and we'll work something out ;) I did find it interesting that people didn't notice that they were fish. I shall label the signage next time. I am thinking of releasing a limited edition picture book of this series. I am currently working on a pair of Bluebell fish. I also trained today. I had McDonalds before training. Note to self, never have that junk ever again. Meh, I was silly and in a rush to get back to the Zine fair. I paid for it at training though. Much work needs to get don
