Art Vs Artist April 2020

Manga Challenge: Grell Sutcliff from Black Butler

I got challenged to draw this character: Grell Sutcliff from the manga "Black Butler" when I got home tonight by a friend.  So I did.  I haven't drawn any anime in a while and I certainly haven't drawn a character by another person in a very long time.  I remember I used to draw Dragon Ball Z, Yuu Yuu Hakusho, Sailor Moon and Ranma 1/2 quite a bit.  I had a big anime phase.  I don't draw them much anymore but I still like watching the anime and reading the manga.  It was a fun challenge to do.  The drawing was based off a comic panel in Vol 02, Chap 09.  With a few changes.  I don't like copying things exactly as they look.  This is all in grey lead and colour added in Photoshop.

I have been promoting my Rabbit Town facebook page all day.  Just trying to get likes and have people share it to their friends so more people will know more about me and what I do. Am up to 295 likes and am hoping to reach 300 by tomorrow.  A prize to the 300th like and everyone that likes my page from here till the 400th like is in the running to win an original A3 piece of art!

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.

IF: Burning

Howdy!

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!
