Character designs for a book gig

Some illustrations that I've been working on for a book.  Am happy to say that all the characters in this picture has been approved by the client.  Hurrah!  I should make the deadline for this gig.  I also have two other books that am working on for a different publishing company too and the style different from this.

I had a couple of clients that I've been working on for ages contact me consecutively (one yesterday and one today) for two completely different jobs,  I tend to say yes (as much as I can) to clients who continuously hire me.  I find that being there for good clients, as much as possible, tends to pay off in the long run.

Next week is going to be flat out busy.  I am already busy as it is but from next week things are just going to be absolutely crazy since my workload has increased.

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Burning

Howdy!

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.
