Fashion Time with Redbubble and TeePublic.

It is no secret that I love buying my own designs and wearing them so I thought I'd post up a few photos!

There has been a lot of controversy and disgruntled artists on Redbubble lately since they now have a tier system.  I find myself lucky that I ended up on the premium tier.  Redbubble and TeePublic are my main stores at the moment though I put most of my efforts on Redbubble.  I like their all over print stuff.  I really wish they would get A-line skirts and skater dresses though.  I don't particularly like the A-line dresses, I look like a sack of potatoes and I need a belt to give myself a decent shape.  I am a big fan of the chiffon tops, sleeveless tops and their mini skirts though.  The colours come out exactly like I want and it's so vibrant.

The T-shirts could be better.  It's nowhere near as vibrant as it could be, that said I wash my shirts regularly and it takes a while before it really gets faded.  The normal shirt quality of both TeePublic and Redbubble are pretty much the same, it's not surprising since Redbubble owns TeePublic.  I am finding that flat and bold colours with minimal shading is best for the T-shirts.  The bolder and flatter, the better it comes out. The gradient shades are very hit and miss and don't come out as vibrant as I would like.  That said, I find the shirts comfortable and even though they can look better, they don't look bad in my opinion.

Photo above is one of the pages from a brand book I just submitted for Artshine, showing how a design can look good on multiple products.  Really pleased with how it turned out.

I would like to open up my own store but the logistics and having to ship and do all the customer service stuff is not something I have a lot of time for so I do prefer to go with POD stores.  Less profit, true but also less admin work for me.  I've had to deal with some mailing for one of my other business and my gosh there was a debacle at the post office and it was quite the saga but that's a story for another blog post
