Urban Sketching: Federation Bells
This is not what I was drawing today but yesterday. I've got loads of stuff to show for tomorrow and quite a bit to talk about! Wait for the post tomorrow. Now, I went Urban Sketching with the Melbourne Urban Sketchers group yesterday and this was a lot of fun. This one took ages to draw too. I was using my big landscape book yesterday. These are Federation Bells, in Birraung Marr Park, a bit of a walk away from Federation Square. It's a gorgeous view of the city from there. All of us who were sketching were waiting for the bells to start and when they did...oh my gosh, it just wouldn't stop! I mean, it started at 12:30 pm and we thought it would just go for a few minutes but half an hour later, it was still going and driving all of us sketchers a teeny bit mad! It was great to catch up with the sketchers. Sketch meets are fortnightly now and I don't always get to go and lately I have been way too busy to go out on location to sketch. I really want to do more though.
For other news...one of my pieces was used for a flyer without my permission. I am happy to report that he has apologized for the transgression and with the help of friends on facebook, hopefully the point of not stealing somebody elses artwork hits home. I think it did.
Anyway, stay tuned for the post tomorrow. It's going to be a big one.
