Life Update: End of July

Raccoon illustration by Rabbit Town Art

Well...this month has been very busy, if not a little traumatic.

I started a new contract animation gig on July 01, the gig is completely remote as the studio is located in Adelaide.  I am working on an adult animated series and I'm really enjoying the project.  I've actually found this series quite liberating and it's rekindled my actual joy of animation.  I have learnt and have been reminded of some things while on this job that I plan to apply to my own work in the future.

I've also done some painting this month.  I did a few raccoons all eating.  I do love chubby creatures.

Unfortunately this month has not been all good.  In fact, this year hasn't been great in a lot of aspects at all. Earlier this year I had one loved one diagnosed with cancer and this month a second loved one.  The news was both unexpected and shocking to say the least and I need to make a lot more changes this year to face this problem. It's been stressful to say the least.  Frankly, am due to have a few health checks myself but I decided to try and get through one crisis at a time and the second loved one's diagnosis is very new and we don't really know what we're dealing with yet. I have been in a fortunate situation that my work has been more than understanding about it.

2024 has been a bit of a bummer for me personally though, thus far.  I really hope things look up soon.

In the meantime, check out my fluffy kitty.  I wish I had his life.  Must be nice.
