Art Challenge: Doggust 2024 part 01

I haven't done a drawing challenge in ages and I decided to do Doggust this year.  I needed some dogs in my folio and thought that this was a good one to kill 2 birds with one stone.  I actually drew up all 30 something dogs over 2 weekends and have only been posting the black and white drawings.  I thought that to actually finish a drawing challenge between work and life that I had to keep it simple.

I did replace some dogs who looked too similar to each other in my opinion. It's been good fun drawing these guys.  I sketch first and then ink with a brush pen.  Keeping it as uncomplicated as possible.  I am looking forward to colouring these in Photoshop though!  I am thinking of doing a fun one later for when I start doing the patterns and stuff.

I love using bristol pad when it comes to inking as the ink just flows really smoothly.  The doggust challenge ends at the end of August.  Am not sure if I will be doing another drawing challenge this year but you never know. I just feel like inking dogs at the moment though! The good thing about doing these art challenges is practice, folio building and enough content to put up on social media!

My cat Hanzo, helping me ink as per normal.  What a good kitty he is. Frankly, I've drawn enough dogs for a book.  I still need to colour them all though!

As for life...well I am still contracted to an interstate studio till first week of September and then I'll contracted to another job for a couple of months from mid-September which is great!  Don't need to worry about gigs!  Unfortunately, there have been other things which haven't been great at all.  Make sure to look after your health, people!
