Birdtober 2024 part 02

 

Carolina Wren, American Crow, Red-Headed Woodpecker, White Winged Dove

Phew!  I meant to post this much earlier but whoops.  Things kept coming up.  First things first, I didn't manage to complete Birdtober.  I got up to 20 birds (and I skipped a few at the end to draw the birds I wanted).  I am glad to have made it to 20 and it was nice discovering a whole lot of new birds.

Great Tailed Grackle, House Sparrows, Painted Bunting, American Goldfinch

My favourite discovery/ bird is the Painted Bunting.  It's so colourful!  The females aren't too bad either being all green.  

I normally worked at night after work or I did a batch of drawings over the weekend. I found it to be really relaxing and it was nice to take out the copics again, it's been a while.  It was also nice to be able to blend it with colour pencils too.

I would love to do Birdtober again next year.  I am not sure if I would do any better in getting all the birds done but it was so nice to discover new birds and try drawing them.
