Froguary: Uakari Frog
Frogs! I love frogs. They come in so many different varieties and colours and I actually think they're kind of cute. I stumbled across a Froguary challenge on instagram for the month of February and I've been meaning to draw more frogs and thought this was a good opportunity. I am only loosely following the challenge and I am drawing when I have the time.
It only occurred to me after I finished the illustration that I had a missed opportunity with the can label. I should have named it after the frog. I painted this using water colour pens but it wasn't really working with the paper I was using. I relax by drawing on the couch, in front of the TV so I tend to veer to mediums that work with that like markers, pencils, fine liners. Ones that don't involve a lot of water. I'll most likely switch back to copics again for my next frog.
I've been in a bit of a drawing slump. It's rough to be inspired sometimes, especially when there is a lot going on in life so it helps to find challenges that offer inspiration and ideas.
Other than work, there has been a lot of adulting happening. I am still looking for more freelance work and commissions to do and fixing up the house. I have so much gardening to do. I will need to draw the plants in my collection too.
Feel free to email me for a chat about frogs or if you're after illustration work!
