Urban Sketching: AAMI Park

Hallo, hallo!  This is the first Melbourne Urban Sketcher meet up for the year last Saturday Jan 23.  I had a great time.  The weather wasn't with us though as it was drizzling and raining at the start of the meet up and then became all nice and sunny when the meet ended.  Tsk, tsk!  Melbourne weather.  We were actually suppose to draw tennis stuff at Rod Laver but because of the rain and lack of shade, a lot of us ended up sketching AAMI Park.  Ah well!   It was still a great day!  I spent the sketching session with my friend and fellow organizer Evelyn Yee  at a nearby cafe to draw the park and to keep out of the rain.

I also caught up with a friend and fellow animator from Sydney who is in Melbourne at the moment for a job after the sketch meet ended.  It was a great catch up and time flew by so quickly!  Afterwards I met up with Evelyn again.  Stuff about that in tomorrow's post!

Rob took me to another country town today, during my break from work, it was lovely and I had a great time.  We went for an hours walk in a walking track at the Botanical Gardens and then we went to very nice restaurant there.  I like Kyneton very much.  They shut stuff too early though!  Anyway, am now back on the computer and back to work!

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Burning

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.
