Urban Sketching: Red Lion Hotel Kilmore (Safari Room)

 So last month, I started sporadically urban sketching again. And I do mean sporadically and one of the places I sketched at was at the Red Lion Hotel Kilmore. The Red Lion has had a bit of a rocky history and has been opening and closing over the years for a while. I am glad to see that it has opened once again. We decided to go for steak night last month and we enjoyed it!

They had some teething issues as the wait was a little long but we did visit only 2 weeks after they opened but all in all, Rob and I enjoyed our time there and we enjoyed the food. The place was packed and it was fun drawing the patrons.

I did the sketch while we were waiting and coloured it when we got home. I would prefer to colour on the spot but since I like using copics, it would have been a bit cumbersome to bring and I wasn't sure how long it would take between sketching and food.

Will definitely come again and will probably draw a different area of the pub! We were in the Safari Room for this one. I would like to draw the bar one of these days.
