Sea Life commission piece

 

I was working on this commission before the end of last year and finished it right after Christmas.  The person who commission me liked the Drop into the Ocean book I illustrated and wanted something similar. No digital help with this one though, all hand drawn using copic markers, posca markers, gel pens, colour pencils and fine liners. I can't remember the last time I did an illustration that was purely traditional as the final product. I really enjoyed it though there was quite a few cover ups for any mistakes I made.

I've been doing so many motifs for patterns that I've forgotten how much fun it is to just draw full and detailed illustrations. I would like to do more of that this year, I think.
