Old work...

Check this out!  A blast from the past.  I used to do a lot of faces and referencing fashion magazine and I loved working with chalk pastels which is what this piece is made out of.  I only remembered I did this when I was preparing my hard copy illustration portfolio.  I was going to meet a potential new client the next evening and it was organized at the last minute to fit both our schedules.  This was one of the pieces I decided to show.  I did this when I was 19 and it helped me get into Uni.

A part of me wonders why I stopped.  I wasn't too bad at drawing faces from photos and I was pretty darn good with chalk pastels.  Maybe I should start drawing faces from pics again and see if my skills have improved at all.  I haven't drawn portraits or referenced faces from photos in years......

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.

IF: Burning

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!
