Urban Sketching: Carlton Bar

Soooo...I mentioned that I went and caught up with my friend Evelyn Yee right after catching up with animator friend Suren earlier.  Actually...I may not have mentioned his name in the previous post...but am sure it's cool!  I normally don't let people know.  Anyhoo, met up with Ev, we went to the Carlton Bar in Melbourne (very cool joint and I would recommend it) and shared a bottle of bubbly while drawing!  I mean...there's a giraffe in the effing bar...what's not to like?  We had a great time chatting, drawing and catching up.  My type of outing.  So many busy weekends ahead with sketching, working and a party or two!

The one thing about living in the country now is that I have to be careful about not missing my train when am in the city.  Will be difficult to get home otherwise!  Got to get a car soon, I think.  Need to save up a bit more dosh and I will have a car and be a bit more independent getting around.  I currently still need to get picked up and dropped off at the station! Boo!

Today...zero to little excitement.  I submitted stuff for feedback for tow different jobs, was working on my animation gig (Dogstar) and after dinner I will be working again on Dogstar.  I probably need to go draw something for Kookyrabbit too.  My turn tonight!  Might have to be simple I think...

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Burning

Howdy!

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.
