Art Vs Artist April 2020

Deadlift and other gym stuff

Hello, hello!  Well, yesterday was a good day!  I got commissioned to do 2 fish bone paintings as a wedding present.  Very cool!  I have to start that next week.  I'm also working on a few other freelance gigs here and there.

Things have been going very well at the gym.  I can dead lift more than my own body weight, been doing chin-ups, I now do elevated jumping push-ups, stair runs have become pretty easy, kettle bell swings, kettle bell snatch and grab...it's been going really well.  Now, to dispel some myths...if you are a girl, you will not get bulky from doing weights.  You will never look like a man because of the lack of testosterone....essentially, you need roids to bulk up to look manly.   I have come to enjoy doing weights and pushing myself (and being pushed) at the gym.  It's been awesome and Justin Foo is a really amazing trainer. I've come a real long way from when i started a little over a year ago and am still continuing this year.  I am fitter and slimmer than I was when I was younger.  I wish I started earlier but hey, better late than never!

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.

IF: Burning

Howdy!

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!
