Art Vs Artist April 2020

Supanova Continuation.....

Me drawing with my sister and Rob
Day 02 at the Mepxy stand

Two new finished pieces of today

The awesomeness of Mepxy.

All done using Mepxy markers

All done using Mepxy markers and without using pencils

Our artworks!

Howdy!  Well, I had a pretty good time at Supanova today.  I also uploaded a couple of photos from yesterday, showing me drawing as Batgirl.  Today was good and I completed two pieces and though I had tons of compliments and people being impressed, I made no commissions or sales today.  Ah well!  Win some, lose some! I came up with some nice pieces, we came away with some pretty awesome art supplies and all in all, it's been a very good weekend.

Would be cool to do this sort of thing again and have a stall and all...though the fees are pretty high up, so it would be good to be connected to a table again and sell stuff like my zines and really push selling the drawings instead of just displaying it next time around.  Live and learn.

Some highlights:  I did do a few on the spot commissions, I had a huge amount of ego stroking, some kids asked for mine and Rob's autograph, saw lots of friends, spent my money on worthy purchases and I had a real good time!

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.

IF: Burning

Howdy!

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!
