First post of the year

Welcome 2014!!!  2013 was really good to me so I hope that 2014 will be an upward trend.  A lot has happened this year.  I've been juggling a relationship, full-time contract work, gym, freelance work, my personal art and a social life.

I did not accomplish all the goals I set out to do in 2013.  Stuff like submitting to Illustration Friday every week, I missed out on a couple of blog posts this year and my diet hasn't been great.  I did save money but I spent far more than I should too.

I have started selling my work at the Pepper Cafe and experienced a lot of new things and places this year so I don't regret anything.  I've also been having a great time working at Studio Moshi and I will be there for another year as well.

This year...I want to keep doing what am doing.  Training, art, work and perhaps aim to find a balance if I can.  I will also start cooking my food.  It will help me with my diet and my financials.

I hope that everyone has an awesome 2014!

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!  How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri. I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.  Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Burning

Howdy! This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash. I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!

IF: Remedy

"Little Benny is off to remedy a pest problem" Howdy, When the theme "Remedy" for Illustration Friday came about, this came to my head.  I suppose I always had a thorough and maybe a tad bit on the overkill side when it comes to remedying certain problems.  I got bitten by bedbugs while I was in an Austrian hostel and this is exactly what I wanted to do...eradicate the nasty little creatures from the face of the planet.  This is hand drawn and then scanned into Photoshop for colouring. I went hiking again today. Went hiking in the rain and mud in the Dandeong ranges and treated myself to scones afterwards.  Not a bad day at all.  Keeping active and having a balance between work and staying at home all the time and just trekking outdoors really helps me focus on what I need to do.
