Lucky Cat Pothos

Devil's Ivy skull art by Rabbit Town Art
Memento Mori, Latin for "remember you must die". Skulls are what is normally used to represent that. What else can really remind a person about their mortality than the human skull.

The skull above has a lucky cat with pothos for luck! Skulls can be thought of as a bad omen in some cultures but I always thought that they made for some very cool and iconic graphics.

I got into drawing skulls between 2020-2021. I drew over 50 easily, not quite a hundred, though. It was during the lockdowns and not being able to see most of the people I cared about in person for months. Crazy times.  I think it's normal to think about how we only have one life to live, the older we get. Then I think about: if I died now, would I be able to say I had a good life? Would I be happy with what I've done, achieved, seen, etc. because that's what it comes down to, doesn't it?

There are still things I would like to do. I would like to travel more. I enjoy eating out but I also don't want to spend too much money but you can't take your money with you either. I want to relax but I also feel like I should be more productive. So many contradictory wants. I think it's all about finding that balance, at the end of the day.

Maybe I'll draw skull later tonight.
