Monster 21

Hallo everyone!  Today is my birthday today.  I would like to thank everyone that greeted me happy birthday.  It is always nice to feel loved and remembered.  I also love the presents I've received so far!!!

This is my monster for today...funny that they resemble twins since my sign is a Gemini.  Wheee!  Not that I believe much in star signs and all that.  Though I always like reading my horoscopes in the paper on the way home.

What am I doing today?  Mostly work and seeing my partner tonight.  Should be fun!  Work is going well anyhow, am quite a ahead and so I feel less stressed.  I also managed to get some freelance done last night, the Exhibitchin piece is done, dusted and submitted and the next few evenings are event filled with friends...so am looking forward to it!

Another thing, I just turned 33 and I am stronger than I've ever been....if training is anything to go by.  I can deadlift 75 kilos, I managed to get 6 close arm pull ups in a row and 3 wide pull-ups in a row and I can shoulder press a 16 kilo kettle bell above my head.  Feeling pretty good with how training has been going so far.  Looking forward to a physically demanding year next year when my friends and I form teams to compete in obstacle courses...should be great!

  1. Aw, love this gemini monster!! Happy birthday, and well done on your training - sounds amazing! I turned 33 last week too :) I don't go in for horoscopes much either, but I do like being a gemini.. and we were born in the year of the monkey according to the Chinese calendars :D

  2. These monsters are so fun and I love the fact that you draw on notebook paper. It takes me back to high school days, when I would doodle in the margins :)

Space Chickens in Space Trailer

Hi, hi!  A trailer for the projects I've been working on all year at Studio Moshi, as an Animation Team Lead, has been released!  Here it is in all it's glory.  It's pretty fun and manic and colourful, with funny stories and appealing characters. All the good things that I enjoy when working on a project.

It's always interesting when working with people from different countries and time zones, getting assets and feedback but it works.

We have 4 months left on this project.  Where did the time go?  It feels like it just zipped by.  I am looking forward to a break.  I think...this time around I will focus on getting my website done and working out all my social media accounts and perhaps a few new pieces as well.

Been doing budgets too.  I think I may have been eating out way too much and shopping, but hey...can't take money with you when you die!  That said, I think I will endeavor to be a bit more frugal in the next production.

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

Bunnylope 003

Howdy!  It's been a while since i posted anything up on the blog.  My bad. I've been super busy with one job after another and I WAS doing a few drawing challenges too before I got overrun with work.

For news, I finished up with one of my animation jobs last Monday, started work at one of my regular studios on Thursday and we're working on a cartoon movie for DVD, did drawing and freelance illustration in between those days and caught up with a friend, somebody was being a jack ass on the tram and I let them know it.   Rob and I also watched Logan, a great movie and I would totally recommend it.

Today, I did a bit of work, received text from one of my employers about more work and we're about to enjoy the day in a country fair.  Well, if we make it in time.  I also cooked up pancakes this morning and it wasn't a disaster.

Our kitty Hanzo (changed from Dorian) is causing a lot of mischief and he likes to eat electric cables.  Guess we have to find something to stop…
