Balloon design
Hi! I got commissioned to design a balloon. I can't really say what the brief is for just yet. Anyhow, this was done using Mepxy Markers with a uniball fineliner and gel pen on Canson Cartridge. A really fun project and I designed my own little town with no references! A challenge but lots of fun. I am hoping to get more commission work, that's for sure.
Lots of belt tightening since my last taxation payment. I always wondered what the big deal was about taxes until I had to start paying large amounts. It's no wonder everyone hates it. It was even more difficult in the past when my savings kept getting drained by certain circumstances. It's a lot better now and I hope it stays that way.
Am still trying to find more work on top of work. I have 6 months on my full-time contract left and I have a few big decisions to make before then. I wish I could try all the options but I don't have enough cash for that. It always comes down to money. They say money can't buy happiness, but guess what, it makes things a lot easier if you have lots! No regrets going into the wonderful world of crazy creative freelance and not having any stability though. I am a firm believer that you have to do what you love, otherwise, why bother?
I sometimes think that it would be awesome to leave everything behind and travel but at the same time, it may actually be great to own my own place and finally paint my own walls. Decorate how I want. I think property is best but the adventurous nature in me just wants to take off. Decisions...decisions....am going to do my best to at least prepare for both and wait till something clicks to make the final call. No harm exploring all options right? Anyway, you never know what's in store. Neither plans my happen if a spanner is thrown in the works or I may be able to do both by some miracle or who knows what opportunities or challenges lies ahead. Just got to do my best with what I've got, as always, right?
