Reflection on the 100- day floral challenge

Last year, I attempted the 100-day floral challenge with high hopes, but it turned out to be more challenging than I anticipated. Despite my initial enthusiasm, I only made it to day 4 before other projects took over. At that point, I had to accept that adding this challenge to my workload wasn't feasible.

However, the idea of completing this challenge still appeals to me. My portfolio could use more floral designs, and I've been considering creating separate elements to make pattern making easier and then a fully illustrated piece for wall art.

Drawing flowers has always been a bit of a challenge for me, but I find it incredibly rewarding when I manage to capture their likeness. While I'm hesitant to commit to any specific challenges this year due since life can get busy, especially when I start focusing on work again. That said I've decided to just do challenges casually. If I feel inspired my the challenge theme and I have time, then I'll do it. If not, then all good too.

In 2024, my goal is to draw and create daily, whether it's for personal projects or work. However, I also want to be kinder to myself this time around. Which is a new thing but am going to try anyway and not spread myself too thinly or feel bad if I don't make my goal some days.
