What is the point?

Day 56 and I woke up today just feeling a bit let down and a little hopeless.

I just don't know what the point of it all is.  I don't know if I can be bothered to believe in anything anymore. Would anyone notice if I just dropped everything?  Disappeared?  Or would I only be noticed because am not there to be used anymore?

Drawing done in less than 5 minutes.  Straight copic fineliners and straight into Photoshop for texturing.

  1. Ahhh Marta! :(
Sorry to hear your feeling down. Unfortunately we all have days like this..... But of course you need to get on going! Your animations and funny illustrations definitely brighten up my day, so keep it up and it'll pay off!

Sometimes you just end up having a few losses before you get any wins.
Cheer up missy and go find something fun to do on your Saturday afternoon :) :) :)

  2. Well, I would miss you, so don't disappear on us, ok? :)
Feeling like this is very common after completing a lot of work successfully, like you did recently, so don't worry, this feeling will go away. There is something that can really help you get over this feeling much quicker though and that is to put everything down, forget about all the work and just go off and have some fun, it really helps, trust me :)

  3. Sweet Marta...I don't know why, but it seems that the slumpys quite often attach themselves to bouts of creative genius...which you my dear have been putting forth in spades! Hang in there...and know that you and your work are a gift that brings delight and joy to many...myself included! Brilliance and doubt go together...sad but true...hey, maybe you could draw artistic brilliance kicking doubts you know what, because yes, your talents definitely fall into the brilliant catagory! :)
    Big hugs...♥

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

Howdy!  It's been a while since i posted anything up on the blog.  My bad. I've been super busy with one job after another and I WAS doing a few drawing challenges too before I got overrun with work.

For news, I finished up with one of my animation jobs last Monday, started work at one of my regular studios on Thursday and we're working on a cartoon movie for DVD, did drawing and freelance illustration in between those days and caught up with a friend, somebody was being a jack ass on the tram and I let them know it.   Rob and I also watched Logan, a great movie and I would totally recommend it.

Today, I did a bit of work, received text from one of my employers about more work and we're about to enjoy the day in a country fair.  Well, if we make it in time.  I also cooked up pancakes this morning and it wasn't a disaster.

Our kitty Hanzo (changed from Dorian) is causing a lot of mischief and he likes to eat electric cables.  Guess we have to find something to stop…

Hello! Hello!  Some news!  I was on TV a few weeks back, April 07 to be precise, to represent Moshi with Christien Clegg and Dale Andreson for Space Chickens!  It was really good fun.  The hosts Lauren and Andy were super nice.  I was quite nervous, there wasn't a lot of warm up before filming and it was all very spontaneous.  We were advised to just run with any mistakes made. smile and just have a lot of energy!

Dale and I had a couple of draw offs while Christien refereed and described Space Chickens and  animation.  There were some really weird topics that we had to draw for the last segment, I had to draw a chicken doing taxes on the sun (with Andy) and a Pelican doing the lambada on a shooting star. We only had a minute each for each drawing.  It was crazy to say the least.  I did enjoy myself though.

The pictures below were taken by our Producer that accompanied us to the shoot!

In the first drawing,, where we had to draw the chickens, I was like grabbing colors to color m…
