IF:Intention

My submission to Illustration Friday, theme: Intention.  Sadly, the intention to wash dishes doesn't happen as often as I would like at my place.  I tend to leave the dishes unattended, especially when I am working or rushing to go out somewhere.  I have a lot of plates and glasses to spare, which is great, but not so great once they start piling up in the sink.  One would think I would wash dishes immediately if my cutlery was limited.

Another busy day today with setting up a scene for a freelance gig which I am hoping to get done before tomorrow afternoon, training and drawing a new fish bone piece.  I am going to revised my Alphabet idea.  It is far too messy and cluttered at the moment.  The theme isn't clear either, so back to the drawing board!  Happily, my new Steam punk fish in A3 is looking good thus far.  Finished up the sketch today.

I also reached another level at running today at training.  I am pretty pleased!  I couldn't run half as long just a few months ago and now am sprinting and running for a good while.  Am pretty amazed discovering the things I am actually physically capable of doing.

Tomorrow is all about work, gym and some house chores.  Not the dishes though.  I already finished that off earlier.  Yay!

  1. Haha, I love the perspective and the style you've chosen for this. It's almost like a cutout on that awesome deep red. The teeny person is so funny.

This used to be me, and sometimes still is. But one way to conquer the pain is loud, energetic music. Perhaps "Demon Kitty Rag" from Katzenjammer to get you going (a song I just love and mention whenever I can.)

Congratulations on your physical fitness improvements!

  2. Hehehehe! Timber! This is very cool. And I agree, it does look like cut paper. Which I love, by the way.

  3. You need a dishwasher! Love how the stack gets overwhelmingly bigger at the top - it always seems worse than it is... ;)

  4. Definitely overwhelming! Great take on the theme!

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

Howdy!  It's been a while since i posted anything up on the blog.  My bad. I've been super busy with one job after another and I WAS doing a few drawing challenges too before I got overrun with work.

For news, I finished up with one of my animation jobs last Monday, started work at one of my regular studios on Thursday and we're working on a cartoon movie for DVD, did drawing and freelance illustration in between those days and caught up with a friend, somebody was being a jack ass on the tram and I let them know it.   Rob and I also watched Logan, a great movie and I would totally recommend it.

Today, I did a bit of work, received text from one of my employers about more work and we're about to enjoy the day in a country fair.  Well, if we make it in time.  I also cooked up pancakes this morning and it wasn't a disaster.

Our kitty Hanzo (changed from Dorian) is causing a lot of mischief and he likes to eat electric cables.  Guess we have to find something to stop…

Hello! Hello!  Some news!  I was on TV a few weeks back, April 07 to be precise, to represent Moshi with Christien Clegg and Dale Andreson for Space Chickens!  It was really good fun.  The hosts Lauren and Andy were super nice.  I was quite nervous, there wasn't a lot of warm up before filming and it was all very spontaneous.  We were advised to just run with any mistakes made. smile and just have a lot of energy!

Dale and I had a couple of draw offs while Christien refereed and described Space Chickens and  animation.  There were some really weird topics that we had to draw for the last segment, I had to draw a chicken doing taxes on the sun (with Andy) and a Pelican doing the lambada on a shooting star. We only had a minute each for each drawing.  It was crazy to say the least.  I did enjoy myself though.

The pictures below were taken by our Producer that accompanied us to the shoot!

In the first drawing,, where we had to draw the chickens, I was like grabbing colors to color m…
