Blue Jay

Day 106 of illustrating everyday and I thought I'd do another piece similar to the Red Squirrel I did yesterday.  I quite like it and I think it turned out really well.

Today was spent mostly at a friends house drawing.  There was a lot of us there and I really enjoyed drawing together as a group.  Working on our own stuff but still managing to converse, have fun and be productive.  It was a really nice day.  That said, I now have to knuckle down and do some character designs that is due tomorrow. I did the concept work earlier today but now it's time to build it in Flash and submit.

Piece today was done in Flash and Photoshop.

  1. Loving this series Marta!
It's so great that you have a group of friends that get together and draw...just like a knitting club...sounds wonderful!
    xo J~

  2. I love this style! The bold colors and lines and little curlies -- they're energizing and exciting!

Some journal entries!

Hi, hi!

How are things going?  Thought I would touch base.  My first week and a bit at work has been quite full on.  Lots of work to do for now.....will see how that goes.  Rob and I went to Sushi Jiro at the QV last weekend for some delicious sushi train.  We love sushi train.  I especially wanted to draw the scampi nigiri and the spicy salmon nigiri.

I also drew my fatty boombah kitty, Hanzo.  He is on a diet...but it's going to take time to lose weight, so he's still fat.  I need to lose weight too.  I really need to lessen my sugar and certainly exercise more.

Working on some test animations tomorrow.  Should be good fun!

IF: Burning

This is my illustration for Illustration Friday and the theme is Burning.  I wanted to do something simple with bold colours and I went for "burning passion" and why not?  I think it's the type of burning most people wont mind at all.  This was illustrated in Flash.

I bought two awesome fashion books today: Dreaming of Chanel and Dreaming of Dior.  I would definitely recommend them!

IF: Mail

"Peggy was so surprised when she discovered that........"

This is my submission for Illustration Friday: Mail.  Thought I would leave it open ended for everyone else to fill in the blanks.

I haven't been able to submit for two weeks because of freelance work and it feels so nice to have something up for this week.  I am still on fashion illustration mode and enjoying it a lot.  Done in Flash and tweaked in Photoshop.
